Construction:

1. Conductor -copper (VBbShvng-LS) or aluminum (AVBbShvng -LS), solid or multiwire, round- or sectorshaped,

class 1 or 2 as per IEC 60228 in accordance with the table below:

2. Insulation – PVC for AVVG, VVG, AVBbShv and VBbShv, Flameretardant PVC for AVVng-LS, VVng-LS, AVBbShvng-LS and VBbShvng-LS.

Insulated multiconductor cable conductors carry identification coloring. Neutral conductor insulation is blue. Grounding conductor insulation (PE, PEN) is in two colors (yellow-green). The identification coloring of the other conductors is either solid or in form of longitudinal stripes of at least 1 mm.

3. Twisting – Insulated conductors are twisted. Cables are of five conductors. Round-shaped conductors are twisted around a mandrel made of the sheathing PVC. Sector-shaped conductor cables have polypropilene binding tape applied around twisted conductors. Also allowed is the application of a central sheathing or insulation material filler in between the conductors.

4. Filling – for round-shaped core cables such as VVG and AVVG,  it is extruded from calcium carbonate filled rubber compound or similar material  to form a round section. For AVVng-LS and VVng-LS cables it is extruded from flameretardant PVC or flameretardant crude rubber 0.5 mm thick (reference value). Sector-shaped core cables come without filling.

5. Jacket – PVC applied over the filling or binder for VVG and AVVG cables and flameretardant PVC for AVVng-LS and VVng-LS cables

4. Girth insulation – PVC applied over twisted round-shaped insulated cores or binding tape at least 0.9 mm thick for VBbShv, AVBbShv cables and flameretardant PVC for AVBbShvng-LS and VBbShvng-LS cables

5. Protecting armoring

two galvinized steel armor tapes 0.3 mm or 0.5 mm thick respectively whereas the upper tape cover the gaps in between the turns of the lower one

Protective jacket for VBbShv, AVBbShv cables is from PVC and AVBbShvng-LS and VBbShvng-LS cables is from flameretardant PVC.

 

Application:

The cables are intended for transmitting and distributing electric power in fixed installations rated for nominal alternating current voltages of 0.66 KV and 1 KV  with frequencies of up to 100 Hz.

VVG and AVVG cables are meant for laying inside both dry and wet industrial premises on special trestles, in assemblies as well as for laying outdoors. Cables are not recommended for burying in trenches. Cables are flameretardant if laid singly.

 

VBbShv and AVBbShv cables are meant for burying (in trenches), in premises, tunnels, ducts, mines (except for laying in assemblies) as well as for laying outdoors if the cable is not exposed to considerable stretching effects, however, in presense of danger of mechanical damage during the operation. Cables are flameretardant if laid singly.

Flameretardant and low smoke VVng-LS, AVVng-LS, VBbShvng-LS and AVBbShvng-LS cables are meant for industrial and nuclear power plant applications when supplied to the domestic market and abroad. Cables are intended fo be operated in cable works and premises as well as for the applications in nuclear power plant units class 2, 3 and 4 as per classification OPB-88/97 (PNAE G-01-011-97). Cables are flameretardant if laid in bunches.
