1 Description
1). Aluminum Conductor.
2). Steel Reinforced.
3). Bare.
Bare concentric-lay-stranded aluminium wires constructed with a straight round central aluminum wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid aluminium wires.
The most commonly used stranding consists of 7, 19, 37, 61 and 91 wires.
In all constructions, the successive layers shall have opposite directions of lay, the outermost layer being right-handed.

Used in overhead electric power transmission and distribution lines with various grade voltages.
The most favoured overhead bare homogeneous conductors for primary and secondary distribution lines with relatively short spans where high mechanical strength is not required.
ACSR Bare Conductor BS 215 offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.
ACSR Bare Conductor BS 21 is widely used in overhead electric power transmission and distribution lines with various voltage levels.
