Features and applications

XLPE-Insulated Medium Voltage Power Cable or lower not only has excellent electric character, mechanical character, heat and aging-resistant character, environmental stress-resistant character and chemical corrosion- resistant character, but the simple structure, lightweight, no restriction by laying drop, and high-temperature allowance for long-term working as well.

 

They are suitable for use in rated AC voltage(Uo/U) 6/6-26/35kv system transmitting and distributing lines. According to different sheath makeups, they can be used for laying in the air (cable bridges, indoor wall supports, and groove boxes) and in soil(direct burying, cable canals, and pipelines)

1. What is the difference between XLPE cable and PVC cable? 

PVC – Poly Vinyl chloride ; XLPE – Cross linked Poly Ethylene

PVC :  thermo plastic ;  XLPE: thermosetting plastic. 

PVC can withstand temperatures up to 70°C ; XLPE can do 90°C.

PVC costs lower with large market, XLPE costs higher with smaller market.
