Applications:

For use primarily in residential wiring, including branch circuits for outlets, switches, etc. May be installed in both exposed and concealed work in normally dry locations. May be installed in air voids of masonry block or tile walls where these walls are not subject to excessive moisture or dampness. May be installed in locations with temperatures up to 90°C, but with the ampacity limited to that of 60°C conductors. Added Circuit: For use primarily in residential wiring for branch circuits supplying outlets located in bedrooms and other areas. Has two separated neutrals so one cable can be used to run two circuits when sharing of a neutral is not allowed.

CONSTRUCTION:
NM-B cable is manufactured as 2, 3, or 4 conductor cable, with a bare ground wire. Copper conductors are annealed (soft) copper. Stranded conductors are compressed stranded. Conductor insulation is 90°C-rated polyvinyl chloride (PVC), nylon jacketed. NM-B cable is designed for easier pulling, resulting in easier installation. The cable jacket is color-coded for quick size identification; White – 14 AWG, Yellow – 12 AWG, Orange – 10 AWG, and Black – 8 AWG and 6 AWG.


Assembly:
Two-conductor constructions have the insulated conductors laid parallel. Ground wire is wrapped with paper and laid parallel between the insulated conductors. The entire construction is wrapped with a paper separator before applying the jacket. Three -conductor constructions have the insulated conductors twisted together or laid parallel to each other. Ground wire is wrapped with paper and twisted together or laid parallel to the insulated conductor.

CONSTRUCTION:

Conductors:
Solid 14-10 AWG soft, uncoated copper, per ASTM-B3
Stranded 8 AWG conductor and larger uncoated, copper ASTM-B8
Insulation:
Color-coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compound meeting the required thickness of Type THHN with a heat-stabilized Nylon jacket rated for 90°C in dry locations.
Grounding Conductor:
Soft, uncoated copper per ASTM-B3 and/or ASTM-B8
Jacket:
A 30-mil, color-coded, PVC jacket is applied over the completed assembly as follows:
14 AWG White I 12 AWG Yellow I 10 AWG Orange I 8 AWG Black I 6 AWG Black

Assembly:

2-conductor construction has the insulated conductors laid parallel with a bare copper ground wire wrapped in paper and laid parallel between the insulated conductors. The entire assembly is wrapped with a paper separator before applying the PVC outer jacket. SuperSlick Elite is available in sizes: 14 AWG, 12 AWG, 10 AWG constructions. 3 and 4 conductor constructions may have the insulated conductors laid parallel or twisted together before applying the PVC outer jacket.
